Standing Committees
Advocacy
This committee shall be composed of the different advocacy programs of PPhA and take charge of planning, implementing and evaluating relevant projects, activities and initiatives that shall promote collaboration with other health professionals and contribute to better health outcomes of patients.
Community Service
Community Service - this committee shall take charge of health promotion and campaigns for public awareness, hold medical-dental mission, emergencies and disaster response team, and support other activities related to community service.
Education, Development, & Training
Education, Development and Training – this committee shall take charge of planning, coordinating, conducting, evaluating and improving education programs provided by the association to its members, and those pertaining to pharmacy curriculum, among others.
Election
This committee shall be responsible for the conduct of a clean, honest and orderly election in accordance with the rules and regulations set by the committee and approved by the PPhA Board of Trustees.
Finance
This committee shall oversee the financial planning and record keeping activities of the association, ensure that adequate funds are available for as part of financial management and that assets are protected, draft fiscal policies, anticipate financial problems, and communicate to the Board of Trustees the overall financial status of the association.
Legal & Ethics
This committee shall ensure that the PPhA operates with the highest standards of moral, ethical and legal conduct, and provides legal advice, opinion on issues or matters affecting PPhA, and amendments of the Constitution and By-Laws.
It shall also take lead in the formulation and/or in taking appropriate actions concerning policies, government regulations, and legislation that affects the practice of the pharmacy profession.
Linkages & Internationalization
Membership
This committee shall take charge of the professional welfare of the members and ensure that members comply with their obligations. It shall also be responsible in the campaign for active membership of all registered licensed pharmacists, as well as, the other categories of membership.
National & Special Events
This committee shall take charge in the planning and execution of annual and special events of the association, including the development of a yearly calendar of events, assigning working committees, overseeing preparations and ensuring that each event is properly documented and communicated accordingly to all members.
Nominations, Awards & Scholarships
This committee shall oversee the selection and recommendation of candidates for local and international awards, scholarship recipients or nominees for Board of Pharmacy according to set criteria, with the concurrence of the Board of Trustees.
Oversight
This committee shall take charge in the review, monitoring and supervision of the implementation of projects, programs, activities and policies of the association.
Procurement, Bids & Awards
This committee shall be responsible for the determination of the eligibility of prospective bidders, conduct of bidding, evaluation of bids, undertake post-qualification proceedings, and recommending award of contracts to the Board. It shall consist of five (5) members, namely: (1) the Executive Vice President as the Chair, (2) the Executive Secretary as the Co-Chair, (3) a member from the Legal and Ethics Committee, and (4,5) 2 members of the Board of Trustees.
Professional Specialization
This committee shall govern the activities of organizations and members in the different fields of pharmacy practice. It shall take the lead in the development of specialization programs and of a code of professional specialization which shall serve as a guide for standardization of specialty practice of pharmacy, as well as in the establishment of specialty practice organizations.
Public Presence
This Committee is chaired by the Public Relations Officer and shall: a. prepare publication materials and disseminate all forms of communications and information to the members and public such as but not limited to both internal and external activities and concerns of the association and the profession; b. manage the different PPhA social media accounts, publications, and website; c. provide support to the activities of the Board and all committees
Research
This committee shall encourage, promote, coordinate and support research through formulation of research priorities, strategies and guidelines, coordination of annual research reports, and the overall enhancement of research culture in the association.
Ways & Means
This committee shall take charge of generating funds and resources for the activities, programs and projects of PPhA.
