1st Professional Healthcare Summit for a Healthy And Digital Philippines

The 1st Professional Healthcare Summit for a Healthy and Digital Philippines hosted by the Council of Professional Health Associations (CoPHA) featured a pivotal Plenary Session on Collaboration with Government Agencies towards the Delivery of Healthcare Services, moderated by Ms. Jingle Garcia Diola, RPh, MBA, the Philippine Pharmacists Association’s Section Representative on Pharmacy Practice.

This session focused on two key areas crucial to the sustainability and efficiency of healthcare in the country:

1) PhilHealth Engagement and Payment Claim Reconciliation by Mr. Walter Bacareza, Philhealth Vice President.

The discussion delved into the ongoing challenges healthcare providers face in claims processing with PhilHealth. Mr. Bacareza highlighted the various initiatives and improvements being done by Philhealth to streamline its processes to unburden healthcare institutions impacting their capacitybto deliver continuous care.

2) Magna Carta for Public Health Professionals discussed by Atty. Dr. Leo Olarte, FPCS, FPOA - Professor of Legal Medicine & Past President of Philippine Medical Association (PMA) . This topic emphasized the importance of upholding the rights and welfare of healthcare workers, especially those in the public sector. The session discussed the Magna Carta for Health Professionals, focusing on ensuring fair compensation, better working conditions, and adequate support for healthcare professionals, particularly in light of the demanding roles they play in the healthcare system. Strengthening the implementation of the Magna Carta is seen as a critical step in promoting a motivated and resilient healthcare workforce.

The event was also attended by Ms Ma. Gilda Saljay, Former President and Ms Malou Garganera, Asst. Treasurer of PPhA.
